Cygnets is a children's art school founded in Kingston, Richmond and the surrounding areas. Our focus is on the teaching of traditional skills such as drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects; experienced teachers, and professional quality materials.
The school was founded by married artists Tabby and Hessy. They are both based in Kingston upon Thames, where they live on a houseboat with their dog Badger. Cygnets work with a small number of carefully-selected teachers, who are all DBS checked and talented artists in a variety of mediums.
Karen, who has been teaching for Cygnets Art School for over two years, has trained in both the Kingston and Richmond branches. Once the full-time Richmond teacher, she has set off to open and teach in her own, brand-new branch in Surbiton.
Karen studied at Kingston School of Art for three years, staying on to work for another two as a Fine Art technician. Having worked in both professional artist's studios as well as continuing her own practice in her studio in south London, she has been able to develop her passion for art for many years. Her biggest hope is to pass this enthusiasm and skills onto the next generation!
If you would like to see any of Karen's own artwork it can be found on her website and the instagram page linked into it.
